HC Deb 04 December 1973 vol 865 c334W
Mr. R. C. Mitchell

asked the Secretary of Sate for Social Services whether he will permit supplementary benefits to be paid to people taking industrial rehabilitation courses where the allowances payable for such a course are less than the social security benefits which they previously received.

Mr. Dean

Any person who takes an industrial rehabilitation course under the Government schemes can already receive supplementary benefit if his resources are inadequate for his requirements as laid down in the Supplementary Benefit Act 1966.
