§ Mr. Peter ThomasSince 1967–68 expenditure on the provision of school meals, milk and clothing has been an element of local authority expenditure attracting rate support grant. For 1972–73 approximately 58 per cent. of local authorities' relevant overall expenditure was met from Exchequer grants.
