HC Deb 04 December 1973 vol 865 cc378-9W
Mr. Roderick

asked the Secretary of State for Wales how many physically handicapped pupils attend schools in Wales ; how many of them are of secondary school age ; and how many of the latter are taught by subject specialists rather than general subject teachers.

Mr. Peter Thomas

In January 1973 the latest date for which information is available, there were 590 physically handicapped pupils in special schools in Wales, of whom 237 were over 11 years of age. Information is not collected about the numbers taught by specialist subject teachers.
