asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will arrange for the Supplementary Benefits Commission to increase the disregard of £15 for annual rates relief ; and if he will make a statement.

My right hon. Friend has no power to do so. I understand that the Supplementary Benefits Commission intends to maintain the present arrangements, but has no plans for increasing the amount which is now ignored.
