asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what rates of royalty are payable to the Atomic Energy Authority.

The rates of royalty payable to the Atomic Energy Authority are :

Reactors and Reactor Fuel (i) Nuclear Power Stations built in the United Kingdom No royalties are payable in respect of Magnox stations. A royalty of 0.00583p/kWh sent out will be payable by the United Kingdom generating boards in respect of advanced gas-cooled reactor (AGR) stations commissioned in the United Kingdom before 1st January 1975. For AGRs commissioned after 1st January 1975, royalties have yet to be determined. (ii) Overseas Nuclear Power Stations Royalties were payable in respect of the two Magnox stations sold overseas. Some payments are still being received. Royalties in respect of other overseas stations would be payable by the Design and Construction companies at the rate of 25 per cent. of the net profit accruing from the construction of the reactor.
