§ Mr. Fryasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will take an early decision on the request of Northamptonshire County Council for permission to demolish the old workhouse building at Glapthorn Road, Oundle, to facilitate the early development of the site partly as a residential centre for handicapped persons and the elderly, and partly for sheltered housing.
§ Mr. ChannonGlapthorne Road Hospital (Main Building) and Hospital Chapel, Oundle are statutorily listed as being of special architectural or historic interest and may not be demolished without the prior grant by my right hon. and learned Friend of listed building consent. No application for listed building consent has yet been received from Northamptonshire County Council in respect or these buildings.
