§ Mr. Skeetasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry for how long the Government has had a 36.6 percent. interest in the British Sugar Corporation; what is his policy towards this holding; and if he will take steps to dispose of it.

Her Majesty's Treasury has held 11.25 percent. of the ordinary share capital of the British Sugar Corporation Ltd. since the formation of the corporation in 1936. A further 25 percent. has been held by the Sugar Board since 1964. 207W There are no plans at present to dispose of either holding.
§ Mr. Skeetasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will consider referring to the Monopolies Commission the operations and activities of the British Sugar Corporation.
