HL Deb 18 April 1973 vol 341 c1210WA
LORD AVEBURY

asked Her Majesty's Government how many people have been removed from the United Kingdom, or taken into custody with a view to their removal, as a result in whole or in part of information given to the Home Office or to a police officer by officials of the Department of Health and Social Security or the Supplementary Benefits Commission in Letchworth, Southall and Gravesend respectively; and what is the total number of such cases in all other parts of the United Kingdom.

THE MINISTER OF STATE, HOME OFFICE (VISCOUNT COLVILLE OF CULROSS)

The information asked for could not be obtained without considerable investigation. On general grounds my right honourable friend would in any event be reluctant to disclose the source of information on which action is taken by the police.

House adjourned, for the Easter Recess, at eight minutes past seven o'clock, until Tuesday, May 1, 1973.
