§ Mr. Brocklebank-Fowlerasked the Secretary of State for Social Services on how many occasions since June 1970 the buying power of the retirement pension has fallen below its level on that date; and if he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT a table showing the relationship between the buying power of the retirement pension and the retail price index on a monthly basis since June 1970 to the most recent convenient date.
§ Mr. DeanBetween July 1970 and August 1971 inclusive the buying power of the retirement pension fell below the level it had held in June 1970 but from September 1971 has been above that level, as indicated in the following table:
