§ Mr. Douglas-Mannasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many persons have, since 1st January 1973, been deported or arrested pending deportation, on the ground that their entry to the United Kingdom was illegal, who had been residing in the United Kingdom to the knowledge of his Department for 12 months or more before 31st December 1972.
§ Mr. LaneNone, but 11 such persons have been removed from the United Kingdom under the powers contained in the Immigration Act 1971 and a further 16 are detained pending removal.
