§ Mr. Graham PageThe average length of time between lodging an appeal and holding an inquiry into it and between the date of the inquiry and the decision was 38 weeks and 17 weeks respectively for appeals decided by the Secretary of State in March 1973. The equivalent figures for April 1972 were 31 weeks and 15 weeks, and for April 1971 26 weeks and 17 weeks.
