§ 38. Mr. Lambieasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what arrears of work there is at present in the Paisley, Kilmarnock and Ayr area offices of his Department as a result of the industrial dispute involving civil servants; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. DeanIt is not possible to quantify precisely the extent of the arrears of work but the main effect has been delays of up to a week in payments of contributory benefits and of up to two weeks in dealing with postal claims for supplementary benefits.
