HC Deb 05 April 1973 vol 854 c121W
Mr. Stratton Mills

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will amend the house purchase scheme for owner occupiers to include those cases where the owner can show that the premises have been on the market for at least six months; and if he will indicate the basis of valuation of the premises which have been vandalised while vacant.

Mr. Peter Mills

The operation of the scheme will be reviewed in due course when suggested changes will be considered.

The price to be offered for all houses falling within this scheme will be assessed by the Commissioner of Valuation on the basis of market value at the time of purchase. If the house has been vandalised this will be reflected in the price.
