HC Deb 04 April 1973 vol 854 cc95-6W
26. Mr. Wall

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the progress of the land resettlement programme in Kenya including any additional schemes recently discussed with Kenya Ministers.

Mr. Wood

In my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Hertfordshire, South-West (Sir Gilbert Longden) on 26th January, I referred to a grant of £600,000. This made possible the continued flow of sales in the period before we agreed with the Government of Kenya to provide the further £7 million which I announced in my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Tonbridge (Mr. Hornby) on 9th March. I expect the land transfer programme to continue without interruption. —[Vol. 849, c. 250; Vol. 852, c. 224.]
