asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the total number of accidents which occurred on the A57 in the Rotherham and Kiveton rural districts during 1972 and the number of persons killed or injured on this road during that year.

Forty-one accidents, in which 11 persons were seriously injured and 51 slightly injured. There were no fatal casualties.
