HC Deb 02 April 1973 vol 854 cc1-2W
Mr. Woodhouse

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will issue guidance to local authorities to ensure that the same criteria are applied throughout the country in determining whether to disregard war pensions, wholly or partially, in calculating rebates under the Housing Finance Act.

Mr. Channon

Under Schedule 3 to the Act authorities must disregard £2 a week of any war disablement pension. They have discretion, at their own expense, to disregard more. I have already suggested that those who disregarded more under a previous discretionary rebate scheme might wish to continue that policy.
