HC Deb 02 April 1973 vol 854 c32W
Mr. David Clark

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what was the latest weekly production of eggs in England and Wales; and what was the corresponding figure for a year previously.

Mr. Anthony Stodart

The throughput of eggs graded at packing stations in England and Wales for the week ending 25th March 1972 was 9.02 million dozen. The comparable figure for the week ending 24th March this year is estimated at 8.28 million dozen. Throughput at packing stations is estimated to be 55 to 60 per cent. of national weekly production.
