asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many persons were on rent strike in September, 1971, September, 1972, and August, 1972, respectively; and how these persons were distributed in each of the main towns on each date.

The number of people on rent strike in Northern Ireland in September, 1971, was reckoned to be between 24,000 and 26,000. At the end of August, 1972, the number was 18,200, and at the end of September, 1972, it was 17,800. Information about the distribution of these people between the main towns on each date is not readily available.
