HC Deb 26 October 1972 vol 843 c371W
Mr. Fowler

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what was the total public expenditure, current and capital, on juvenile courts for the last available year.

Mr. Carlisle

Expenditure on juvenile courts is not separable from the total expenditure on magistrates' courts in England and Wales. In 1971–72 current expenditure on magistrates' courts amounted to £18,489,000, and capital expenditure on buildings to £4,256,000.
