asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry on how many days, in absolute figures and percentages between 21st July and 20th October 1972, inclusive, east-bound and west-bound take-offs, respectively, were applied at Heathrow Airport because of prevailing winds.

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry in a normal year, on what percentage of days aircraft take off from Heathrow Airport to the east.

Easterly operations are in force at Heathrow for about 30 per cent. of the time during a normal year. But details in the precise form requested are not immediately available, and I will write to my hon. Friend as soon as possible.
