HC Deb 25 October 1972 vol 843 c306W
54. Mr. Edwin Wainwright

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he is aware that the price of steel produced by the British Steel Corporation is below that of steel produced in the European Economic Community; and, as the British Steel Corporation now faces a substantial loss in the current financial year, what action he intends to take to ensure that the pricing policy of the British Steel Corporation does not conflict with the pricing policies of the European Coal and Steel Community regulations.

Mr. Tom Boardman

The Corporation is currently reviewing its pricing policies in the light of the requirements of the Treaty of Paris and the contribution it would wish to make to restraining inflation.
