HC Deb 25 October 1972 vol 843 c329W
40. Mr. Leadbitter

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the average increase of council house rents estimated for the year 1972–73 compared with 1971–72; and what is the total rent paid to local authorities for those years.

Mr. Eyre

On the first part of the Question, I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to the hon. Member for Rother Valley (Mr. Hardy) on 18th October. The answer to the second part must await the publication of the Housing Statistics of the Institute of Municipal Treasurers and Accountants for the years concerned. I understand that the figures for 1971–72 should be available in about two months.—[Vol. 843, c. 249.]

Mr. Leadbitter

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will give the average percentage increase for council house rents in Hartlepool for the financial years following 1968.

Mr. Eyre

This information should be obtained from the local authority.

Mr. Eyre

The Department does not have this information, which should be sought from the local authority.
