HC Deb 25 October 1972 vol 843 c322W
Mr. Kilfedder

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether his committee on discrimination in employment in the public sector is prepared to examine the employment policies of industries in Londonderry, Newry and Strabane, which are known or are alleged to operate discriminatory practices against Protestants.

Mr. David Howell

My right hon. Friend has set up a Working Party on discrimination in the private sector of employment. After its first meeting it invited, by public advertisement, views and information from all who considered they could assist in its work. The Working Party is anxious to study the problem fully, but it will not investigate specific allegations of discrimination.
