HC Deb 23 October 1972 vol 843 c177W
Mr. Bishop

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what representations have been made to him by the National Joint Council for Civil Transport regarding the need for action against hijacking and against Governments giving sanctuary to hijackers; and what reply he has sent.

Mr. Michael Heseltine

The trade union side of the National Joint Council for Civil Air Transport recently wrote to the Foreign Secretary expressing the concern of its union members, which I share. I have replied confirming that the Government's policy is to seek international agreement on effective measures against acts of violence to civil aviation.
