HL Deb 16 October 1972 vol 335 cc1663-4WA
THE EARL OF LAUDERDALE

asked Her Majesty's Government :

What studies they have carried out to trace and analyse the pattern of population movements within the United Kingdom, as discernible from the changing pattern of registrations with National Health Service doctors.

LORD ABERDARE

The Registrar General for Scotland uses statistics on the movement of patients on doctors' lists between Executive Council Areas within Scotland and other countries of the United Kingdom to assist in measuring migration. The use of such statistics to measure population movements within England and Wales is being studied.
