§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether, in the interests of road safety, he will request all tyre manufacturers to have a red printed warning strip of moulded rubber inserted in the tyre tread in all motor tyres at the level where the absence of tread makes the tyre dangerous, so that as the tyre wears the inner red warning signal becomes clearly visible.
