§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what plans he has to seek to amend the legal aid scheme, to obviate the present situation where a person convicted of a serious crime can and does obtain full 508W free legal aid, whereas a person acquitted of a minor offence may have to pay full legal costs.
