Mr. Iremongerasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what action the British delegation is taking to raise at the United Nations Commission on Human Rights the decision of the Supreme Soviet of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics to levy a diploma tax on Soviet citizens granted leave to emigrate from the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
§ Mr. AmeryWe have told the Soviet authorities of the concern felt in this country about the proposed taxes, and we have also spoken in support of a United States initiative in the United Nations on the treatment of Soviet Jews.
