§ Mr. Gibson-WattAt 31st October, 1972, the number of persons receiving psychiatric treatment was 8,551, representing 0.3 per cent. of the total population of Wales. The latest available figures for the average length of such treatment are 188 days for the mentally ill, and 1,040 days for the mentally handicapped.
