§ Mr. Peter ThomasCurrent planning is based on a maximum of 4,100 pre-clinical entry places by the later 1970s and this can be achieved by the provision already made or approved. Decisions on the establishment of any further medical schools, which is a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Education and Science, must await further determination of the national need for doctors.
