§ Mr. Weitzmanasked the Attorney-General whether, in view of the judgment of Mr. Justice Payne in the case of Winter versus Winter, he will refer to the Law Commission the improvements suggested by the judge with regard to the enforcement of a wife's order for maintenance.
§ The Attorney-GeneralIt would be inappropriate to refer this matter to the Law Commission since a committee under the chairmanship of Mr. Morris Finer, Q.C. is at present considering the problems of one-parent families, including difficulties in enforcing maintenance orders. The attention of the Committee has been drawn to the views of the learned judge.
