§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether she will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT as much detailed information as may be available giving the number of retired teachers who were, on 23rd October, in receipt of pensions of £28.40 per week; and whether in these cases rent allowances were additionally paid.
§ Mrs. ThatcherThe information requested in the first part of the Question is not available and could not be obtained without excessive cost. There is no provision in the teachers' superannuation scheme for the payment of rent allowances.
