§ Mr. WorsleyUnder the Pastoral Measure, 1968, the Church Commissioners have the duty to consider any representations against draft schemes proposing uses for redundant churches. The Commissioners received a number of representations, mainly from local people, against the appropriation of St. Mary's Savile Town to use in accordance with the rites and customs of the Moslem religion. After taking into account all relevant factors the Commissioners decided not to proceed with the draft scheme but to issue another draft scheme to authorise the demolition of the building and the disposal of the site.
