§ 82. Mr. Frank Allaunasked the Secrtary of State for the Environment why he has dismissed two Labour councillors from the Harlow Development Corporation.
§ Mr. EyreOne member of the corporation, who is a former member of the GLC and the Essex County Council, has agreed to stand down as from 30th November. Another member of the corporation, who is a Harlow Urban District Councillor, was also asked to give way, but refused to do so. He has been told that his appointment will terminate with effect from 30th November.
The membership of development corporations is reviewed periodically, and if new members are to be introduced this often involves asking some existing members to retire.
