§ Mr. CarlisleResponsibility for providing and improving accommodation for magistrates' courts rests with local authorities and magistrates' courts committees. My right hon. and noble Friend the Lord Chancellor and my right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment are responsible for accommodation for the Crown and county courts. Substantial court building programmes are in hand.
