§ 46. Mr. Roseasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what are the average rent increases for private tenants whose rents have been increased following application by landlords under the Housing Finance Act. 1972, in the Manchester area and in the constituency of the hon. Member for Blackley.
§ Mr. EyreThe figures the hon. Member seeks are not yet available, and would relate to very few tenancies.
§ 47. Mr. Roseasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what have been the average national increases in rents paid by council tenants since the introduction of the Housing Finance Act.
§ Mr. EyreIt is difficult to make precise estimates since rents payable depend on the rebates granted to tenants. However our broad assessment of the average weekly increase in rent likely to be paid by all council tenants in 1972–73 is about 35p.
