§ Mr. Gordon CampbellGirvan Town Council recently submitted a feasibility study of improvements estimated to cost £400,000 which it thought necessary to cater for a growing fishing fleet and164W increased commercial traffic at Girvan harbour. As the fishing quays are adequate for the fishing activity at the harbour, the council was told that grant could not be offered under the Fisheries Act, 1955, and that no grant is available for harbour improvements required for commercial traffic.
