§ Mr. Joel Barnettasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make a statement on the administration of disability pensions to unemployed persons, with particular reference to the case brought to his attention by the hon. Member for Heywood and Royton, whereby a disabled constituent of his has been informed that if he remains unemployed for 12 months his unemployment benefit will then be reduced from £7 to £2 per week.
§ Mr. DeanI understand that the matter which concerns the hon. Member is the treatment of disability pensions under the Supplementary Benefits Scheme, and I am writing to him.
