Mr. Dalyellasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether he will enter into consultations with other countries about safeguards guaranteeing the interests of developing and industrialised countries, as a result of the development of satellites exploring the earth's resources by remote sensing apparatus.
§ Mr. Michael HeseltineMy Department is represented on a United Nations Working Group which is currently studying the problems arising from remote sensing of the earth by satellite. I am satisfied that the United Nations is the best forum in which to pursue these matters.
