§ Mr. Spriggsasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if she will set up a commission of inquiry into the management of the Teachers' Superannuation Scheme, to provide details showing the correct valuation of the above Scheme for each financial year from 1966 to the latest date for which details are available.
§ Mrs. ThatcherA broadly based working party is already well advanced on a comprehensive review of the teachers'506W superannuation schemes, which I hope will soon lead to agreement on substantially improved benefits for teachers. My Department and the Government Actuary's Department are at present engaged on the preparatory work for the statutory quinquennnial valuation of the scheme for the period 1966–71. I see no need for further inquiry.
