§ Mr. Peter ThomasThe initiative for ensuring the continuance or improvement of rural bus services rests in the first instance with local authorities under Section 34 of the Transport Act, 1968. I am confident that the Government's proposals for the reform of the licensing system will prove of considerable additional help in dealing with these matters.
