HC Deb 24 May 1972 vol 837 c388W
Mr. Idris Owen

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what facilities are made available for private citizens effectively to make representations on regional strategic planning documents; and whether he will arrange for a public hearing to take place after the publication of each strategy, so as to assist preparation of structure plans.

Mr. Graham Page

When work on a regional strategy has been completed by the study team concerned, the strategy document will be published so that representations from any quarter can be considered before Government decisions on the strategy are taken.

Full public participation is required by Statute to take place, followed by an examination in public, in relation to the draft structure plans for which the regional strategies are guidelines.
