HC Deb 24 May 1972 vol 837 c392W
Mr. Carter-Jones

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what requests he has received from amenity associations asking him to appoint their members in a representational capacity to national park authorities.

Mr. Graham Page

A number of voluntary amenity bodies and other organisations are invited from time to time to suggest names of persons suitable for appointment by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State to national park authorities in England. Unsolicited requests for persons to be appointed are also received. It is not my right hon. Friend's policy to appoint persons to membership of national park authorities as representatives of particular organisations.
