HC Deb 24 May 1972 vol 837 c410W
Mr. Maginnis

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether he will make a statement on the smuggling of an imitation sub-machine gun into Northern Ireland on 4th May, 1972.

Mr. David Howell

No one part of the United Kingdom can be made totally immune from smuggling. Security forces carry out control and search operations in various forms. It would not be in the public interest to reveal the details of these operations or any changes in them.
