HC Deb 24 May 1972 vol 837 c415W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how and in what way the adoption of Regulation 2502/71/EEC of 22nd November, 1971, amending Regulation (EEC) No. 95/69 in regard to the marking of containers of industrial eggs will affect British industry engaged in these activities; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Anthony Stodart

Regulation 2502/71/EEC makes a minor alteration to the wording which must appear on labels on boxes of industrial eggs—that is, eggs which are unfit for human consumption. After the United Kingdom's entry into the Community the egg trade in this country will have to comply with these labelling requirements, but we do not expect this to create any difficulties for the trade.
