HC Deb 24 May 1972 vol 837 c373W
Mr. Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many dental surgeons in Scotland have withdrawn from the National Health Service since March, 1971.

Mr. Gordon Campbell

The latest available figures show that in the 12 months to 31st March, 1972, there was a net increase of 15 dentists in contract with executive councils in Scotland for the provision of general dental services. During that period 55 general dental practitioners, including those retiring because of age and those who died, ceased practising in the general dental services.
