HC Deb 18 May 1972 vol 837 c199W
Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what changes have been made, or are proposed, in Royal Ulster Constabulary uniform.

Mr. David Howell

My right hon. Friend is advised by the Police Authority for Northern Ireland that the only proposed change in the uniform of the Royal Ulster Constabulary is in the shade of colour. At the moment, male constables and sergeants wear dark green, while all other ranks wear a lighter shade. It is proposed to adopt the lighter shade as standard for all ranks.
