LORD STRABOLGI

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether, having regard to the increased flow of works of art abroad to be expected from the provisions of the value-added tax, the views of the Reviewing Committee on the Export of Works of Art on this subject have been received, and whether these could be published.

THE PAYMASTER GENERAL (VISCOUNT ECCLES)

The Reviewing Committee have written to me on this subject and I have replied. It is usual for their recommendations and advice to be published in the Committee's annual report, which is laid before Parliament.
