Mr. R. C. Mitchellasked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many applications for the attendance allowance have been made to date in the Departmental region which includes Southampton; and how many of these have been granted.
§ Mr. DeanUp to 7th April, the latest date for which figures are available, 10,900 claims to attendance allowance for severely disabled people in the Department's London West region—which includes Southampton—had been dealt with. Of these 6,800 had been successful.
