§ Mr. EyreTable 36 in the publication Housing Statistics gives the totals of houses demolished or closed under slum clearance powers for calendar years. These were 69,233, 67,804 and 70,057 for 1969, 1970 and 1971 respectively. The number demolished or closed in the first quarter of 1972 was 15,100.
